Official Project Description
These projects involve simulations of the noradrenaline transporter (NET), a key protein responsible for terminating noradrenergic signaling by using sodium and chloride gradients to drive the reuptake of noradrenaline into presynaptic neurons.
NET is a crucial pharmacological target for numerous antidepressants and analgesics.
The aim of these simulations is to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying noradrenaline transport, providing insights that could facilitate the design of more effective drugs.
