Research: CANCER Folding Project #15500

Project #15500 overview

Project Summary AI Beta

This project will create a computer simulation of a protein part called hRpn13. hRpn13 helps break down old or damaged proteins in our cells, and messing with it could be used to fight cancer. Scientists want to see how this part changes shape when it interacts with other molecules.
Automated summary; simplified and may not be fully accurate.

Official Project Description

The proteasome subunit hRpn13 is a critical component of cell maintenance and reproduction, serving to help recruit ubiquitinated targets for protein degradation.

Inhibitors of hRpn13 are a promising avenue for anti-cancer therapeutics. This project aims to simulate the Pru domain of hRpn13 which contains many different surfaces at which interactions with proteins and peptides occur, and undergoes significant conformational change upon binding.
